update upgrades already-installed packages through one native package manager. It does not install missing declarations or prune packages. Use apply for declared package presence and nix for Nix builds and activation.
macOS
Syntax: outfitting-manager update [--no-push]
Upgrades installed Homebrew packages and publishes the observed Homebrew inventory unless --no-push is set.
Linux
Syntax: outfitting-manager update [--package-manager <apt|pacman>] [--offline]
Upgrades installed native packages. The manager is detected from the host unless selected explicitly. --offline refuses to run because network-free package resolution cannot be guaranteed.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
--package-manager |
Override package-manager detection with apt or pacman. |
--offline |
Refuse the update because network-free package resolution cannot be guaranteed. |
Windows
Syntax: outfitting-manager update --package-manager <winget|scoop> [--no-push]
Upgrades installed packages through exactly one selected manager. A package manager must be specified. Successful package operations are recorded; --no-push keeps the update state local.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
--package-manager |
Select winget or scoop. Required. |
--no-push |
Write local update state without uploading windows.lock.json. |
